Thomas S. Buechner could be described as a painter’s painter. Buechner’s lush and loving touch illuminates each elegant genre of his work. Landscapes of barns near his home in Corning, New York are solitary sentinels speaking for a forgotten past. Still lifes explore and extol the depth of luminosity in humble vegetables, fruit and flowers while somet imes highlighting humorous and human characteristics, often referenced in the titles of his works.
